Tuesday. It was impossible to
get a complete list of names of
such a crowd.
Mr B T Legg, of the ManningRim
& Spoke Works, was in
town Monday in the interest of
his firm and sold several hundred
dollars worth of his goods
to dealers in this place.

Dr W G Thomas, Dr Gamble's

from a firm at Lake City and a
$30.00 order from Kingstree.

Mr H J McVeigh of Florence,
the well known piano man, was
in town last week. He says
business is picking up somewhat
in Florence and Marion
counties on account of the tobacco
sales on over there, and
he thinks we ought to plant
tobacco here and put up ware
houses, which would relieve the

depression in "the good old
summer time."
County candidates will bear
in mind that the time for filing
pledges and paying assessments
expires at noon on Tuesday,
August 11, the day before the

Assistant Dispensary Auditor
S J Hunt was in Kingstree
last Friday going over the affairs
of the dispensaries in this
county. It only took him about
three hours to complete the job,
and his report shows the books
in perfect balance and everything
in satisfactory condition,
which is quite a compliment to
the faithful work of the efficient
bookkeeper, Mr J B Steele.
Mr Peter Mulholland has perfected
arrangements for a gents'
pressing club in connection with
tailoring: establishment, and
after August 1 any gentleman
may become a member by paying
one dollar a month in advance,
which will allow him
four suits pressed per month.

The Kingstree Hardware Co.
is having their two stores made
into one by removing the partition
wall,which will give them
a floor space of 44x90 feet, besides
their large ware house in
the rear of the store. The two
stores occupied at present are
both crowded and the alteration
being made will be a decided
improvement in the menage of
this enterprising firm.
