Mr M H Jacobs being a skilled artist in thej, handling- of the balances was in ! charge of this contest, and as 1 each couple was weighed their combined weight was recorded. At the conclusion Miss Thetis B Stackley and K K Wallace were i declared the winners of the prize, a beautiful pearl : handle fan, while Miss Minnie Clare Yarborough and Mr W W MB* were handed the lemon consolation. We refrain giving the weights of the jHJrize winners as it is not a matter of record. The couples were then ushered into the spacious parlor where they were entertained with choice selections of music from the skilled hands of Misses Minnie Clare and Clara Yarborou?jh on the piano and violin, also Professors lirockinton and Kpps.
