Mr S L Courtutv has opened a
grocery store in the building formerly
occupied by Mr S Marcus. Mr
Courtney is a young man of businese
enterprise and personal popularity
and we bespeak for him success
in his venture. In another column

Drs J L Bass and W V Brockinton
performed a delicate operation
on Wednesday of last week on Silvv
Washington, a six-year-old negro
child brought here for treatment
from Johnsonville. A splinter h;ul
{ttnetrajed the eye some years ago,
totally destroying the sight. While
tht operation was a dangerous one
the child is doing nicely now.
