by Precincts.
To the Farmers of Williamsburg
County:
Having been elected as county
chairman of the Farmers' Association
of Williamsburg county, I feel a deep
sense of the obligations and duties
that devolve upon me as the head
of this great and important movement.
Now, it has been said time
and agaiu thai farmers as a whole
will not stand to their obligations
when they take them. This is for
you to answer. I have appointed
the following gentlemen to call the
farmers together on Saturday, February
IS, at their respective primary
precincts to organize l>y appointment
of committee to canvass the territory,
if necessary, to get every farmer to
sign a pledge in reference to reducing
acreage and fertilizers at least 25
per cent.

Death of a Young Man. si

death of MrMcltoy Matthews, which i
occurred last Sundav nielit at the i??
home of his father, Mr J M Mat- j ^
thews, two miles west of Luke City, j
was a peculiarly sail visitation to the I .,
kindred and friends of the deceased, j
Mr Matthews was a voung man only i

about twenty-two years old, full of
the promise of youthful manhood
and well liked by all who knew him.
His death wa- the result omttaek of
pneumonia, to which he succumbed ,_
after a brief illness. He was buried at
the family burying ground near
his home on Monday following his
demise, at 4 o'clock p. m., the funeral
services being conducted by Kev |
