and the greatest volume of trade
the town has ever known on Christ*
mas eve. The people bought freely
of everything in sight from new buggies
to firecrackers.
Mr George Lee of Georgetown,who
holds a very lucrative position with
the Atlantic Coast Lumber Corporation,
spent the holidays with bis
aged mother at this place.
Rev. Mr. Pooser filled his last appointmcut
at this plate last Sunday
morning and a large and attentive
audience listened to an able sermon

in Scranton that are in a flourishing

48, publicly installed their officers,
after which Dr Covington and Mr
Harttfell M Ayer of Florence, S C,
were introduced as orators of the
day. Mr J A Atkins is the retiring
Worshipful Master and his admuiistration
during the past year has been
a very successful one.

the occasion were issued some days
ago and the girls were given the liberty

mittee on arrangements had prepared
the hall, programme, etc, beforehand
and deserve credit for the
manner in which the affair was conthough

evening. The dance and reception
proved very pleasant to the many
young gentlemen and maidens who
