In response to the call of Allerman Meyer a meeting was leld in the office of Stoll Bros. Tuesday niglit looking to the )rganization of a tire company, tfr Meyer was called to the :hair and after stating the obect of the meeting invited all >resent to join the organization. ln^ll 11ZC11 V.111 V/HV.U UO UIVUI >ers of the company. An elecion of officers was then held rith the following- result: H A | tfeyer, president; S Marcus, -ice president and Philip Stoll, ecretary. On motion a comlittee consisting of three members was appointed by the presient to prepare a suitable, contitution and by-laws in time to j eport at the next meeting. Mr ! leyer stated that the hose for j he engine had been ordered and I rhen it arrived the company J rould be ordered out for pracice drills. After some discussion the Lame adopted for the company ras the "Wee Nee Fire Com paiy". The secretary was instructed o make a canvass of the town: nd solicit members for the ompany. The State vs Dave Andrew Jraham, charged with murder, ras called yesterday morning. Mie defendant is an old negro rho killed Zeddtck Stevens, another negro, for alleged intinacy with his wife. The defense vas conducted by W L Bass, 3sq. The jury returned a verLict of guilty of manslaughter.
