Tillman's pres sot mantle is somewhat threadbare. It fell about his form when, in self'&*. defense, he shot Gonzales; the edi tor's hands, as was fully explained at the time, being threateningly thrust hi his pockets. For a while, this mraent sufficed. No state or terx SNSry was there which its flowing trein failed to sweep. And Jim, for L f aeTeral months, was the peer of Ben in prominence. As conducted heretofore with a separate school in L' esu b county, the summer school h as I been pretty muoh of a humbug, ir some counties the spectacle being presented of two teachers at a jo-nt alary of $150 a month with ai so^ called school of lees than a dozen bona fide student-teachers. The consolidation scheme promises something better, and we may tt least in dulge the hope that the fund set h wide for this purpose will not be ^ wholly wasted. The attendant were as follows: Mr rower uuran with Miss Esther Brown; Mr Marioi Brown with Miss Olive Durant; M Texas Eaddy with Miss Eulee Brown Mr Gary Poston with Miss Addi Eaddy. The bride wore a beautiful dress of white organdie, with sill trimmings, and' the brides' maids were becomingly attired in white The gentlemen were all dressed ii black. The bride is a daughter of th< late Lawrence Brown and is a younj lady of attractive personality anc many charming qualities. Mr Du rant is to be congra ulated on win ning so fair a young bride. Th< groom is a son of Rev Daniel Du rant of Vox and is one of the finesi young men of his community. Mi and Mis Durant will reside in the neighborhood of Vox. Hymeneal.
