Please Allow me space in your * valued paper to say a few words ? in behalf of my native State and thp recention accorded me on I my visit there after an absence ? of 47 years. A great deal of my r time while there I spent witn i my brother at Taft, S. I then went over to Florece J county to visit my nephews and f neices there and I must say that the warmth of the welcome extended me transcended all ex* pectation. It was a continuous J ovation from the time I 1 reached there until my departure. I visited the town of Flor* ence and the town of Marion and also went to quaint old George[ j town. In the latter place I saw J some shad for the time in 47 . J years. I took occasion to visit the 51 graves of my father and mother, I hotb of whom lie huried at old 'T Hebron church, where I beard T my first sermon preached when a little boy. It was through r the kindly aid of my cousin, W 5 R Singletary, that we located t the old home place, as there was I nothing standing to mark the site of the old homestead.
