LeRoy Lee, Esq., came up from
Kingstree Friday, si>ent a few hours
in town and went out in the country.
Mrs Emmie Bass stopped over

Kingstree spent Sunday in town
with friends.

the Rogers store, lately occupied by

Dr Williams spent a portion of
last week in Charleston.

l)r L H Johnson accompanied
Mrs Johnson to the sanitarium at
Asheville, X C, last week. Mrs
Johnson's health is not good and sin*
is taking a course of treatment It
is hoped that she will be fully restored
to her former vigor and
strength.
Mr Cash Kpps went down to Savaunal^
about two weeks ago and
\ enlisted in the U S arniv for three
years, lie was at once assigned to

the heavy artillery and is now stationed
with his battery on Tyl>ee
Island, tlii- famous summer resort
near Savannah. He was highly
complimented 0:1 the splendid physical
examination which lie passed.
He is well pleased with his duties,
really delighted with the post to
which he is attached, and thoroughly
satisfied with all his surroundings.
Last Friday a negro man was
found on the road near Moore's X
lloads in a dying condition, lie
died a few moments after being
found. Magistrate Haldwin, on petition,
held an inquest. The jury foutui
that he came to his death by being

Wednesday evening of last week.
This affair was largely attended
and much enjoyed by all present.
Miss Argent Skinner, a popular
young lady from Stoke's Bridge,
has been visiting in our neighborhood
tor the past two weeks.
Mr S II Cooper, who has been
away from home lor a week or
two, returned ia>t Friday.
Mr William Coie of Bishopville
is here on a visit to his niece, Mrs
W S Brockinton.
Miss .leddie Nesmith left last
week for an extended visit to her

When quite young Mrs Moree
was united with the Missionary

Baptist church at St Stephens, in
Berkeley county. After coming
to Williamsburg county she was
soon married to Mr S J Moree, j
and she transferred her member
ship to Spring I'ond chapel, where
she was converted and became
an earnest and conscientious
christian, which she continued
to he until the end. She was a
devoted wife and affectionate
mother. Ilcr immediate family
consists of a sorrow-stricken husband
and five children?four boys
and one girl?who along with
her many friends are bereaved by
her death.
Oh what arc all inv siiilerings her-,

With that enraptured host to appear.
And worship at thy feet!
Give joy or grief, give ease or pain,
