Meeting to Organize Pee uee society
Called In Florence.
A meeting ol'the citizens of the
Fte Dee section who are interested
in the formation of a Fee
Dee historical association will be
heid in the citv of Florence on
Thursday, July 2, in the evening
after the address delivered before
the ' educational association.
Every citizen, man or woman, or
perchance a child, who is interested
in the cause of history and
the preservation of its records, is
cordially invited to participate in
the meeting. It is probable that
the membership in the association,
will be about a dollar a year,
which will entitle the members to
the bulletins of the association.
It is hoped that a strong and
effective organization will be
effected.
Those who can come will be
cordially received and entertained
in Florence if they will notify

The picnic was given to the pupils
of Miss Minnie Burgess' school,
which had closed a week before.
The picnic was put off on accoon'
of communion services at Bethel
church. All who attended seemed
to have a splendid time.
Messrs Needham and John
Williamson of Cades were visiting
in this section Saturday and
Sunday. It seems that there is
something to attract the young
men here and doubtless thev will
come again soon. Hope they will
steer clear ol slumps on their
next trip.
Mr Editor, I should like (or
some of your readers who are experienced
in the culture of tobacco
to suggest a remedy for that
little pest, the 4,flea bug." We
have it on our lobacco. Will
paris green destioy it? If not,
what will? It is very damaging
to tobacco.* I hope some one has
found a remedy and will make it
known to the public.

died Friday at the home of his
brother, J no P Bradley, E*q,
about a mile north ot town. He

was never married and had always
lived with his brother. He wa*

, when Fort Sumter was taken and

surrender, returned home coin
pletely broken in health and never
recovered. He had been very
feeble for some time lime and his
death was not unexpected.
