Senator A H Williams has been
ippointed one of the delegates from

[nternational Good Roads Conven;ion,
which meets in St Louis cn

ledication of the Louisiana Purchase
Exposition. There are ten delegates

to be the greatest meeting of the
kind ever held and it is all honor to
the Senator and to our county that
he should he selected to represent the
State in this world association.
Senator Williams will attend, if
possible.
The town council is keeping its
team steadily at work building np
the sidewalks and already milch improvement
has been made. A "nig-1
ger" and a mule will move lots of
dirt in a year and this dift ptlt on
our streets will do lots?whole, big
lots, of good.
Train riding Is getting to be the
exception and not the rule, as in
former days. Since the ordinance
prohibiting this thing was enacted
the intendant has collected $20.00
from four delinquents, and the
effects are most evident.

Changes of Residence.
Clerk of Court Whitehead's pretty
cottage in East King*tree has been
/vimnlnforf ami on last Monday he
and his family moved into the new
dwelling. On the same day Mr C E
St Amand and family transferred
their lares and penates into the
house vacated by Mr Whitehead, and
Mr S 0 Matthis and family, who are
new comers from Manning, moved
into the dwelling formerly occupied
by Mr St Amand. Another new
household to be set up in Kingstree
is that of Mr H A Meyer, who with
his family will occupy the vacant
Kellehan cottage on West Main
street.

Mortuary.
Died?On Tuesday night, March
10, 1903, after a brief illness of
pneumonia at the home of her son,
Mr R W MeCutchen, of Benson, S
C, Mrs Mary McCutehen, aged 62
years. Besides her other relatives
and friends Mrs McCutehen leaves
three sons and one daughter and a
number of grand-children. The
remains were interred at the Williamsburg
cemetery on Thursday at
11 am, Rev Henry Cauthen officiating.
