^CT EMPOWERING TRUSTEES TO
~ ^O ISSUE BONDS TO BUILD SAME
Question of Issuing Bords to be First
Submitted to Qual.fied ElectorsAmount
Not to Exceed $7000.
Following is the full text of
the bill to authorize the trustees
of Kingstree School district
of Williamsburg county
to issue bonds for the purpose
of erecting school buildings
and equipping same and purchasing
a lot or lots, as
passed at the recent session
of the Legislature:
Section 1. That the trustees
of Kingstree School District,
of Williamsburg County,
are hereby authorized and em^
nnu/ered tn issue and sell

coupon bonds of said school
district in an amount not
exceeding seven thousand dollars
(*7,000), as they may
\ deem necessary for the purpose
of purchasing a lot or
tots and erecting and equipping
one or more school buildings
in said district as said
Trustees shall shall deem advisable:
Provided, That the
question of issuing the bonds
authorized in this Section
shall first be submitted to the
qualified voters of said school
district, at an election to be
y held to determine whether
said bonds shall be issued or
not, as hereinafter provided.
Sec. 2 That for the purpose
of determining the issue
of bonds authorized in Section
1 of this Act, the said Trustees
shall order an election to be
held in Kingstree, in the said
school district, on the question
of whether the said bonds
shall be issued or nptK in
which election only the qualified
voters, residing in said
district, shall be allowed to
p vote; and said Trustees shall
give notice of said election
for three weeks in the County
papers published in the town
of Kingstree; shall designate
the time and place and appoint
the managers of such election,
* and receive the returns of the
managers and declare the result.
Sec. h The said Trustees
shall have printed for the use
^'of the voters in said election
two sets of ballots, which
shall be placed, an equal number
of each, at the polling
place, on one of which be
printed the words. "For the
issuing of bonds," and on the
other set shall be printed the
words, "Against the issuing
of bonds." If a majority of
the votes cast at said election
shall be for the issuing of the
coupon bonds provided for
in Section 1 hereof, the said
Trustees may issue said bonds,
or such amount, not exceeding
seven thousand dollars
{$7,000), as they may deem
requisite for the purposes - set
forth in Section 1 of this Act,
payable to bearer, to run for

years from date of issue, bearing
interest not exceeding
seven (7) per centum per annum,
payable annually. Any
bonds executed and not used
* shall be cancelled.
Sec. 4. That it shall be the
duty of the County officers of
WiIliamsburgCounty,charged
with the assessment and collection
of taxes, by direction
of the Trustees of said Kingsstree
District, to levy such a

The fund so collected
to be applied by the said Trustees
and the Treasurer of Williamsburg
County solely to
the payment of interest on
said bonds, and for the payment
of the principal thereof:
Provided, That any annual
surplus or balance may be
used as hereinafter provided. :
Sec. S. That all bonds issued
under and in pursuance h
of this Act shall be signed by v
the Trustees of said school ^
district: Provided, That the H

may be .lithographed or en-?
graved upon the coupons at- ?J
tached to said bonds; and
such lithographed or engraved
signatures shall be a sufficient
signing thereof. c
