Mrs. Virginia Brockinton fell
from the back piazza of her dwelling
Tuesday night and fractured one
of her limbs. We learn that she is
doing as well as could be expected.
James Washington, colored, appeared
before Judge Stults Monday
on a charge of carrying concealed
weapons. He was found guilty and
sentenced to 30 days on chaingaug
in default of $20 fine.

Resolutions of Thanks.
At the close of the speaking last
Wednesday afternoon a bountiful repast
was served to the candidates by
the good people of Morrisville. The
office seekers were almost "too full
for utterance" after the feast; but

the meeting was held and were called
to order by Hon. II. E. Eaddy, who
had been requested to act as chairman,
and C. W. Wolfe and C. W.
Stoll were appointed as a committee
to frame suitable resolutions, expressing
the thanks of the candidates
for the entertainment furnished
them. The following
resolutions were prepared by the
committee and adopted unanimously:
Whkreas, the county candidates
feci themselves signally honored by
the unbounded hospitality shown
them to-day by the people of Morris
ville and vicinity; therefore '
Be it Resolved, First: That the
aforesaid candidates in todv assembled
do hereby extend their most
appreciative thanks for the courtesies
with which they have been
favored, and especially do they express
thanks to the ladies whogn.ced
the occasion with their presence and
so handsomely contributed to the
entertainment of the speakers.
Resolved, Second. That they
take pleasure in commending the
able and impartial manner in which
Mr. J. Wesley Cook, as chairman of
the said campaign meeting, discharged
the functions of that position.
Resolved, Third, That a copy o
the foregoing resolutions be printed
in the county newspapers.
