Our good friend, Dr. W. L,
Wallace,, is the happiest man in
town this week. On short notice j
his brother, Dr. J", G. Wallace, 01 i
Dade City, Fla., whom he had not
seen lor 35 years, paid him a visit
last Monday, remaining until
"Wednesday atternoon. At the
outset of their career the two .
brothers foria partnership in <
Manning, where they practiced
their profession until the war
broke out. Returning home after
the war they,, like nearly every}
one else, had to start af'esh in!
life and the younger brother cast J
liis lot in the Land ol Flowers.
Dr. J. G. Wallace is surgeon of

traveling in the interest of that

he promised his brother to return
in a lew months and bring his

county one year, and of the polling precinct

Regular meeting of Council held
May 7. 1902. Present: Intendeot
Keiley; Wardens, Heller, Wilkin* and
Brockinton. Absent, Warden Nelson,
The minutes of the last regular and
special meetings were read and coir
firmed.
Clerk and Treasurer was Instructed
to order 20 barrels of lime for the use
of the town, at the price of $1.10 pel
barrel.
The Cleric and Treasurer made his
report tor the months of March and
Anril showing a balance in haud on
Mar 1st, 1902, of $952.60.
No further business Council adjourned.

Special meeting of Council held May
12, 1902. Present: Intendent Kelley;
Wardens, Brockinton and Heller. Absent,
Wardens Nelson and Wilkins.
The object of the meeting was to consider
the cleaning and drawing off the
water in the ditch from the artesian
well at the corner of the Baptist church
through the Brockinton field into
Broad swamp. The contract was given
to W. W. Grayson for the sum of $25.00.
When completed and before payment
lor same the work to be accepted by
full Council as a committee.
The following citizens were appointed
the Board of Health for the town:
I)r. W. G. Gamble, Dr. I). C. Scott,
Dr. W. L. Wallace, Mr. W. R. Funk
and Mr. G. S. Barr.
