on our streets yesterday afternoon.

Mr. Bob Hcgaa, after spending
some time with relatives in Greenville,
has returned here and ac
cepled a position with the Mallard
Lumber Co.
Mr. S. J. Taylor recently received
acar-Joad of coffins. This
by no. means indicates that Greeley
ville is unhealthy, but rather
demonstrates the fact that our
merchants draw patronage from
a large area of territory.
The Mallard Lumber Co. is having
a good deal of trouble getting
their artesian well bored. The

struck a lock which he could not
penetrate. This timev however,
he has. hopes of boring through
that rock. x
All the crops hereabouts are up
and in a flourishing condition.
Miss M. A, Tobias is spending

been transplanted.
Good rains fell hereon Tuesday
and Thursday of last week.

Warehouse, ofTimmonsville,S. C.,
spent some time recently with Mr.
K. C. McElveen. These gentlemen
were looking over the tobacco
prospects, but, combining
pleasure with pleasure they treated
themselves to a mess ot our
Black river shad and red breast.
Mr. Jones will be here again
|about June, to see all who are interested
in the sale of the "weed*'.
Tobacco planters will do well to
see him before selling their crop.
Itev. James McDowell is preaching
a series at sermons at Bethel
church on the subject ot the Ten
Commandments. These sermons
seem to interest all who hear
them.
