this is the story:
Last Monday night Mr. Q, II.
Whitfield lieurd a calf bleating iu, a
rj?astnre,.and on investigating Tuesday
morning he found the c^lf
t wounded as if from the claws of ;a
l>ear. Ou th^ ground near by were
found foot prints supposed to be
those of a bqar and two cnbs.
Dogs were put ot) the trail but
failed to follow it^ probably because
I , the tracks were too old. At any rate
( the dogs aid not. seem to want. to
I follow the trail
