black mare stolen Monday morning
about daylight. The mare was blind,
but in good order otherwise.
Mr. J. T. Nelson went to Charleston
Sunday to see his brother
Frank, who has suffered a relapse
after his recent convalescence.
Our city fathers are putting in
some good work on Mill street,
cleaning out ditches and otherwise
improving that and other thoroughfares.

The local freight from Florence
to Charleston, has changed its schedule
from daily trips to every other
day. Following is the schedule
which went into effect Monday:

Friday; up Tuesday, Thursday and

at the Methodist church Suuday.
At Rest.
Mr. J. F. MoOol lough died at his home a few
mill's fnmi Salter* Depot Monday evening about
8 o'clock and on Tuesday, at ft p. m., his body
was laid to rest in the Williamsburg cemetery,
near where those of his family who have gone
before arc buried. The funeral services were
conductcsl by Itev. J, 15. Weldon, Of Salter* Circuit.
assisted by Rev. H. J. Cautlien, jiastor of
Kingstrec Methoilist church.
Mr. Mct'ol lough was about T>5 years old and
unmarried. He was born and reared in WilliHinKhun?
:ind was one of its best citizens. He
was a Valiant soldier in the Confederate Array
and carried a bullet wound in his nnn as a badge
of his courage.
Somewhat over two years ago he was stricken
with paralysis, which "with several subsequent
strokes, rendered him entirely helpless. For
manv months he had been almost at the mint of
dcatn, yet with remarkable vitality he withstood
the ravages of his terrible affliction until last
week a final stroke left him in such a i-onditiou
that medical skill was of no avail to pruloig his
life.
Mr. McCollough's immediate family consists
of a brother and a sister, both of whom reside at
Chester. Messrs. Charles W. and Philip Stol), of
Kingstrec, arc his nephews.
