The Nachman properly was sold to-day. The Seranton stock brought 68f per cent of cost, the K mill $1,100 and IS mules $135 The Lake City stock went at } $801.60. Everything was bought in by Mr. 11. The defenJant pled not guilty, but the testimony of several witnesses was againt him; so that, after delivering him a , sound lecture, Mayor Kelley sen- i tenced him to pay a fine of $59 j with the alternative of 30 days on the chaingang. Yesterday he was sent to the chaingang. ; Williamsburg was well represented at the carnival in Charles ton this week.
