Mr. Willie Montgomery leturned

The apparatus for the telephone
lines in town has all been received
except the pins for the glass
insulators. A double line to Sailers
and Greens has been completed
and the posts are up on the Indiantowu
line to Cooper Bros',
atore and a part of the way on the
Cedar Swatnp road to Nexson's

C*pt. Ed Wheeler with his
force has been putting in some
cood work on the causeway across
the river. Between whiles the
road builders have paid their respects
to the court house yard and
removed therefrom the tall grasses
and noisome weeds in which the
iiUre children were wont to. play
hide and seek.

At the Methodist church Sanday
morning Rev. W. S. Martin
preached oae of the finest sermons

for many a day. Hie theme
was a lofty one and the thoughts
he uttered were in unison with the
subject. At the close of the
service many of the congregation
congratulated the pastor on his
mastery effort.
Mr. Walter Steele, youngest son
of Cap*. J. .1. Steele, is on a
to his home tolk. Walter is one
ot Ike brightest and most successful

in life were those of the
ordinary boy, but dint of energy,

business he has succeeded where
many youth of far superior advantages

throagh town between one and
two o'clock when they reached
the fifth bridge beyond Black
riter the horse they droro refused
to cross, and Mr. Josey, getting
out el the buggv, attempted to
lead the animal over, but the horse
commenced backing and soon precipitated
Mrs. Josey and the
buggy oter into the water. Fortunately
assistance was near at
hand, and the buggy and its occupant
were soon extricated.
