Messrs. Riehey, the gentlemen
who came from Wheeling, \V. Va.,
a few days ago, have bought the
Smith swamp place from Dr. Williams,
and will build up a truck

miles from here. .Messrs Richey
will live in town if they can buy a
suitable lot on which to build.
The election held last Wednesday
on the dispensary question resuited
in a tie?each side receiving]
an equal number of votes. As the (
law requires that, in order that a j
dispensary may he established a
majority of the votes cast must be
for a dispensary, this election was a
victory for those opposed to the establishment
<>f a dispensary, since
tlio> 'favoring the movement failed i
io secure a majority. The lines
were closely drawn and a good deal
of feeling was worked up among <
some, but everything was orderly:]
no trouble of any kind. Threats of;
legal proceedings have been made]
