One is being erected from Manning
to Kiugstiee, and the poles

seven miles of Kingstree. The
ireshet in Black- river will hold
things down for a week or two.
The brick are being rapidly put
to the place for building the bank.
Mr. ?ilas Bounds, of Florence, has
the contract, and he expects to
get to work on the building in a
few days and have it completed
in 6ix weeks.

Little Laura and Minnie, twin
daughters of Mr. Sam Fulton, died
on Tuesday and and were buried
in the same grave yesterday.
They were bright little things and j
no one knows what it is to give
up these precious little babes, except
those who have passed under
the rod. It seems so strange to us
that God would give us these
little darlings just lonfe enough to
learn to love them, and then fori
them to be so suddenly taken i
away. Yet God knows best, and
doetli all things for good.

On Monday night I he congregation
and members of the Baptist
church gave their pastor, Dev.
G. T. Gresham a sorprize in the
way of a pounding. These little
missions do much good, and always
create better feelings between a
pastor and his flock. The occasion
took place at Dr. Sniders and was
much enjoyed by all. Mr. Gresnarn
is very popular here amoDg
