Mr. J. T. Elkins, of Dillon, was in
town Friday. He.secured from .Mrs.
F. C. Rodger* the contract for
building her hotel. The size, location
and arrangement of this building
we described some time ago.
Mr. Elkins contracted to have
the house completed bv July.
Mrs. Van Keuren and children, of
ctaiith Mills, will probably spend
thesnmmerin Lake City. Mr. Van
Keuren fs now endeavoring to secure
accommodations for them :?r

He is wise. When it is a question

place than this can be found in all

Mr. J. T. Klkins, of Dillon, lias the
contract for.the warehouse anrl thj
prize house. Mr. Klkins seems to
be a nice man and one who understands
his business. The warehouse
will be by 1 "ai feet, and will be
complete in all its appointments.
There is going to be n lively tight
between .Messrs. Stanley A* Moore,
of the new warehouse, and Messrs.
Hall and Clement, of the Star, and
the planter will reap the benefit.
Dr. \V. V. Broekinton and Mr.
D. M. Epps took Mr. H. Van Kpps
to Augusta last week for medical
treatment* After examination it
was declared that Ire had appendicitis
and that the knife was necessary
to effect a cure. An operation
was )>erformed which was pr?>i.ounced
successful, Mr. Epps is
said t j la* getting on all right. It is
hoped that all will be well and that
lie will recover. If nothing unfa
vorable develops lie will be home
