One of the chapters in a some-J
what peculiar affair wrs enacted
here last week. It is a case of domestic
differences in which the in- !
Ianl plays a leaning pari. ii seems,
that Mr .Kvander Thorn hi 11 and his ,
wife, Mrs. Annie Thornhill, nee;
Turner,of Columbia, had sonic ?n-1
pleasantness between them, and j
bad probably lived apart a while.;
A-s to which one was in fault, we j
are not prepared to say. After be-!
ing seperated a while Mrs. Thorn-,
hill went back to her husband.!
One day about two weeks ago Mr. i
Thornhill took their child, a little i
girl about eight months old, down j
street, saying that thev were going |
to his shop. (Mr. T., is u barber;.;
Instead of going to his shop lie i
boarded the train with the baby and I
brought her to his father, who lives
tiie town limits, of Lake City. Mrs.
Thornhill learning the whereabouts
of her child, instituted proceedings
to recover it. Judge Gage issued a j
habeas corpus. Armed with this
writ, btate Constable H. W. Holli-J
way, accompanied by Miss Annie
Thornhill and Mr. 0. It. Turner,!
Mrs Thornhill's brother, cainej
down here and seized the. baby and j
turned it over to its anxious mother j
