Mr. J. F. Barron is back from Bock Hill, where he spent the holidays. He is still buying cotton for the Sloans. Mr. W. R. Edwards, of the firm of Wilson & Edwards, architects of Columbia, spent last Saturday in tho City. He was looking after plans and specifications for new dmildings. The contract for the now school building has been given to Mr. B. P. Turner, whe is expected to begin work in a few days. Fitch, now of Caesar, Miss., has been out on a visit to Iriends and relatives at his old home, after an absence of two years. M r. Fitch is doing well at Caesar, Miss. A case of an assault with a deadly weapon, which was said to have been made on Christinas eve, came up before Magistrate Thompson in Florence county a few davs ago.
