The addition to W. T. Askins' dw is completed. It consists of an annex about twenty foot by sixty feet, and gives about two} thirds additional room for his steadily growing business. Prof. Paine, the well known singing master, came in town a few days ago. He taught a class here some yert'rs ago and gave splendid satisfaction. He is regarded in j this community not only as a master of his n:t, hut as a high-toned* gentleman. V s* A. Sachs,of we-don't-know-where, who opened a stock of clothing and notions in the Severance store about two weeks ago, must have either made a fortune extremely rapidly or decided with extraordinary haste that he was in a fair way to lose what little capital he had; For a lew days ago ne quieny folded his tent (nailed the cover on the box) and silently stole away. Miss Rosa Chamberlain, of Charleston, has been secured as assistant in the Lake City High School. She is a graduate of the Meniminger High School, and comes well; lecommended. She arrived Monday and immediately entered upon the discharge of the duties ot her )>osition. The meeting of days at the Raptist church has not closed at this! writing. The meeting has been i interesting and, so far as human intelligence can discern, much good ' has been accomplished. The pastor was assisted lip to Saturday; night by Rev. I). L. Croeslaijd, who i labored zealously for his Master's! came. Four candidates for bap-j tisin await this ceremony. S. M. Askins' dwelling s n:?out! completed. everything is linished I except the painting and that is be- j ing pushed rapidly. Tiie whole' house has been renovated, changed. J and repaired. The main addition | is the front wing, piazza and oetag- i onal veranda. These materially j alter ana vastly improve me mnr appearance of the building. The job was accomplished by .Mr. K. J. ciilliam, and we say without fear 1 of cuiit'adiction that the work he did ujmjii this house is the very best work to be found in this town or; ' onimunity. A critical examina- [ rion will demonstrate the fact that | i'." is a first class workman, a niasr?*r of his trade, an honest carpen-' ler, who does credit to himself and J deals justly with his employer. Kennedy, , and now il is oiir painful duty " i to chronicle the death oi another, f lovely young daughter of (lie same I household. Miss Daisy, aged twenty-four years. Having completed her studies' at the Columbia Female College; last June, Miss Daisy, belore re-J turning home, spent several j months veiling Northern cities,; whence she was recalled by the' news ot her sister's death. As j quick'y a* possible she hastened j homeward, coming bv way ol i irnllney, where she found another sister, Mrs. W. II. Il.nlgos, quite! unwell. To be with her sister she; postponed her home-coming; but! the shook of Mrs. Olarkson's death proved too much for her delicate constitution and she soon became very ill, growing gradually worse, notwithstanding the best medical skill and the unremitting atumlion ol a tratnea nurse. J wo weeks! ago her mother was called to her bedside, where she remained until! the end came last Saturday morning. The remains, accompanied bv \ Mrs. Kennedy and Mr. and Mrs. \V. II.
