One by one, and with melan-.
choly rapidity it seems, the old
men of our county are passing,
away. One of these venerable
lathers, and withal an exemplary ,
citizen, a staunch member of the ,
Presbyterian church and gallant;,1
veteran ot the war for Southern 1i
rights, was Mr. James McClary,
whose death occuired on Saturday (
last.
Mr. McChrv was about seventy*
eight jears of age and all of his 1

miles north of town. For the past;
six months his health had been;'
failing, and having exceeded the;,
aliotted three-score and ten years, <
his death was not unexpected. 1
The funeral services took place at >,
the Williamsburg church on Sun- t
day afternoon, whence the body!'
was conveyed to its final resting-!1
place at the Willtamsburg ceme-ji
tery. liev. James McDowell's j1
eulogy of the deceased was deeply
pathetic and touched the hearts of j
the large crowd in attendance. j,
- Mr. McClary was a man of upright
Christian character,a public-!
spiritod citizen, all his interests
being identified with his native ,
county.. .Besides a loving and i
bereaved wile, he leaves six
children to mourn the loss of a
father, liis surviving children '
are, Mrs. William Walters and
Mrs. M.S. Montgomery, and!
Messrs. S. M., Cleburne, Herbert j
and Jleyward McClary.
