These papers, instead oi publishing
my article in lull so as it
might be fully understood by the
intelligent reader, have seen lit to
publish a single statement made
by me, which in its connection is
perfectly consistent with the entire
article as published in the I
Advocate; bet. knowingly or ig- j
norantiy,they have used it in support
ol the dispensary law of the
Stale. It is much to In? deplored
that some men, when in position
to do so, will solar turret themselves
as to place others in a false
light before the public as well as
prostitute the truth.

business the State would soon go
out ot the business. Take the
money feature out of it and the
frowning purpose would be destroyed:
and yet fhev tell us restriction
is the intention of the law.
It restriction or the lessening ot
thp evil fs her intention, with the
vast amount of money tfie business
brings to the State, to the cities
and the towns, why does she not
restrict without the money?.
As long as. she makes a vast
profit out of .her, liquor, sales, .so
long will the curs? increase and
its effects rebound on every social,
moral and religious interest of her
people, lrom th^s mansion to the,
hut, and from her highest officials
down to her most humble subjects.
