Harriet Winters and Others Assault
the County Chain Gang.
On Tuesday afternoon of last
week while the county chain gang
was working on the road leading
southeast from town towards
Black River, Harriet Winters, a
dusky amar.on, became incensed
because the road builders found it

PEARL MOSS DISAPPEARS.
A Romantic Story of a Former
Darling.on Girl.

Moss, a beautiful girl of 15, adopted
twelve years ago at Darlington,
S. C., has mysteriously disappeared
from her home in Brooklyn,
lier adopted lather. Thomas Moss,
is inconsolable. lie -aid that
when he was a traveling photographer
ten or twelve years ago at

photographs taken, saying she was
going to give them away ami
would never see them again.
Moss took a I'ancv to Pearl, the
