Thursday. Nov. 10. 1893.
ANNOUNCEMENT.
"With this issue of The Cov.nty:
Record my connection with the
paper ceases. I have sold my entire
interest' in the property and
accoints to Mr. Ohar'es \V. Wolfe,
who has so ably edited The Rk'OCD
since I have been in the volunteer
artnv of the United States.
It is with profound, unfeigned
regret that I sever my connection
with The Record, for I have become
very much attached b->?!i t?
the paper and to the people of t he
county whom I have served. I
have received great encouragement
(: from the reading public ot Williamsburg
and other counties since
I bought The Recovd, and tnauy
were the favors shown me when I
" was a stranger here.
I trust that the same liberal j
support will be accorded mv su lessor
that was given me bv. tlie !
.paper's pat rons.
I
Louis J. Bihstov. i
A CHANGE OF OWNERSHIP. j
V
The County Kicokd with i's
Sappurtenances
lias passed from (
the hands of Mr. Louis .J.
Bristow into my possession. A
simple announcement ot this fact,
I take it, is sufficient. Ilav'ng e?i j
ited the paper foi the past six!
months, I will leave my readers'
to judge of the kin I of paper J
will give them.
To Mr. Bristow is due whatever
of mechanical improvement the
paper has undergone, and it is owing
to his able editorial manage- j
A.
ment that the paper holds the
* high place among county news-;
papers that is conceded to it. Wit h '
a complete mechanical out tit, the
good will of a thousand subscribers
and a liberal advertising patro-i
nage, The Record is in excellent
shape, and only unforeseen di<as |
ters can cut shor its career of use-:
fulness.
> Of my friends I ^ask no favors j
save what is commensurate with;
my deserts; and,in return, I promise
them mv most earnest efforts to
merit a continuance of their kind
. patronage.

Robbed The Grave
A startling incident, of which Mr.
John Oliver of Philadelphia, was
the subjo-t, is narrated by him as j
follows:4 I was in a most dreadful N
condition. My skin was almost ye!- 1
low, eyes sunken, tongue routed. '
pain continually in l ack and sid.es,' *
no appetite gradually <^r<?\vi:i?r 1
weaker day by day. Three physi- ,
eians had given me up. Fortunately,;
a friend advised trying 'Eleetric |
Hitters;'and to niy great jey and
surprise, the first bottle made a do- j'
eided improveinent. I eontimn d : j
their use for three weeks, and am j.
now a well man. I know they saved ,
my life, and robbed the grave of I
another victim." No one should1
