corps of correspondents. It is im
possible for an editor, without the j
pi ft of ulvquity, to rather news;
trom remote parts of the county.!
It is the business of the correspondents
to send in the news, and yet
scarcely a week passes that we do j

not hear of events occurring in localities
where we have one or:
wore correspondents who take not ;
the slightest notice of them so far
as we are concerned.
We are sending Tut: IIecord every
week tree to not. less than a
dozen persons who have promised !
to keep uninformed of the news in
their sections. Many of them '
started olf famously with a letter
every week, but, alas! soon the in

lengthened into months; and yet,

promptly wrote to us, generally
ou a postal, inquiring why the1
paper did not come.
Now, we do not mean this to
apply to all of our correspondents,
lor some of them do their part
well and we are proud ot them;
but, in all kindness, we say that

gotten us, sending in a few items
of news about once in three months,
while still others on cur list never
write at all.
It may be that some of our correpoudents
do not care to serve

the case it is their duty to tell us
