The exercises of the Sunday school were carried out wit h credit to all; concerned, the music bang exceptionally fineandthe programme " rendered in a manner that showed careful training on the part ol the teachers. After th<* exercises were concluded the people did ample jus- < tice to the splendid dinner served them. It is characteristic of these church members to provide good dinners on such occasions. When dinner was over the young folks ' enjoyed themselves in various j ways. Nothing happened to mar!' the pleasure of the day except the rain, which fortunately did not : come till after dinner. The Mingo base ball club chal. lenged the InUiantown boys to with thpm last Saturday, and 11 I"".' - - - ' furnished them with dinner at the < picnic ground. .Fust after dinner i the rain almost caused the visiting < boys to leave, but they finally de \ cided to play, and the Mingo boys never back out of playing any V < club; so both teams went to the ball ground about two miles from , the church. A large crowd left i the picnic ground to see the game, 1 but the Indiantown boys "burnt the wind" for home with no ex- , cuse for leaving except that the I ground was too wet. The club here was ' i much disppointed and hopes the Indians will play the next time , when they are expected to do so. , Mingo does not claim to be able to , handle Indiantown, but she is willing to try her luck anyway.
