Resolutions Adopted by the Indiantown
Church on the
Death of Col- James
McCutchen.
I When sin was introduced into
the world death was demanded as
i its penalty; while sin continues i
5 there is no escape from the wages j
thereof. '
One and another of our kindred1
and triends fall by the way, for
death, all unbidden, enters the j
best houses of the land and claims
for his own those whose absence
gives the greatest pain and most
disaster. Such is true in the
death of our revered ami beloved
brother, Col. James MeCutchen,
who recently passed from the
toils and disappointments of earth
to the Father's house, uWhere the
wicked cease from troubling and
the weary are at rest."
Resolved, I. That while we
would humbly bow in submission
to the will of our Heavenlv Father
|
and are sure that lie doeth all j
things well, we cannot dismiss,!
nor scarcely restrain the grief that j
oppresses us.
Resolved, II. That in the
death of our lamented brother
I the church of Indianlown suffers 1
in every department of her work.;
Ilis wise counsels, his correct and
noble life, his strong Christian influence
were pillars of Support
now broken columns in the t?nipie
of God.
Resolved, III. That we tender
I the bereaved family our condo-'
lence, and assure them of ouri
copartnership in their grief.
Resolved, IV. That a blank I
page in our session boob be in?crib-1
e-1 to his memory.
, Resolved, V. That a copy of;
r. these resolutions be sent to the
family and published in the
I Southern Presbyterian and theCounty
Record.
By order of the session:
J C Cunningham,
Clerk.

Razors in the Air.
Georgetown, Oct. 14.?A lively
cutting affray occurred in what it
known as "Slab Town" on Monday
night, in which Edward Kinloch
received wounds of a serious
nature. His assailant, Scipio Le
Rebour, escaped unhurt, but is
now lodged injail to await tl.e
the resuit of Kincloch's wounds.
The affair seems to be the out
come of a jealousy existing between
the two parties over a negro
woman, in whose house the
injured man was found by LaRobour
and called out. In the
scuffle that ensued, Kinloch was
slashed in a half-dozen places
with a razor, and completely disemboweled.?The
State.
Thomas & Bradhatn will be
found at their old stand in Kings
tree from Oct. 1st with a nice lot
of horses ready to fill the wants of
their friends and patrons. We
will also be ready to collect for
stock sold iast season. We expect
to do some business here and
will sell at a price to insure satisfaction.
Thanking our friends for
past favors and assuring them
that we can do better by them
than ever before, we solicit an
early call.

The Atlanta Constitution says
that "a man in Cartersville purchased
