The great drawback to the success
nf our common schools especially inj
he country is the want of uniform
ity iu text books. A pupil is often
put to studying,some branch by one

it up, but makes ti substitute, thus
incurring an additional expense upon

time is uselessly wasted. You will
very often find in some of oir country
districts several different Uxt-books
on the same branch in use in the same
