I notice a-general complaint of the

late freezer'- My i'rppression is, that
this destruction of the poach cipp,

avoided and if ..you will allow me a
"Short space in your paper, I will en
deavor to say in what way, and
would advi.se my fellow-farmers to
try it, and be convinced as 1 have
V-3'en. Several years ago I ptocurcd
from a neighbor, a lot of line peach
'scions and planted out an orchard in
an open field thought to ho suitable.

yardj under the shade trees (pines.)
Since Chen I have been noticing quite
'a difference between the two sets of
trees. The ones in the orchard be
ing by no means sure of a crop
every ypar, while those under the pine
n?ver fail. I notice, also, quite
a difference in the quality of the
fruit in favor of those in my yard.
^Thi3. year we have been visited by a
fate"freeze, and ,tho consequence is
J.hat the peach crop has been destroy
ed in ov^ry' section of the country,
i am proud ip say, however, that

one-third of a crop on, my trees that
arc sheltered by 1 the pines. I am
