A Well-Known Lowell Grocer
Debilitated by Overwork,
Makee Use of
Ayer’s Sarsaparilla
And Soon Recovers Strength.
“A year ago. my partner died,
and the whole burden and responsi
bility of a large grocery business
fell upon me. The increased caro
and bard work so taxed my
strength that 1 became all run
down, bad no appetite, was weak,
nervous, and endured all the tor
ments which headache, indiges
tion, and total loss of energy could
inflict. The medicine recommended
me did no more good than so much
water. AYER’S Sarsaparilla being
favorably brought to my attention,
I tried it, and, in a short time, be
gan to feel lietter. I continued to
take this medicine for two months,
at the end of which time I felt like
a new man. My appetite, energy,
and strength returned, .and all
traces of headache and nervous
ness disappeared. I am convinced that if I had not taken AYER’S
Sarsaparilla, I should tie totally unable to attend to business.’’—W*. H.

The Installment Heights Amateur
Dramatic Society recently latfodncet
a striking bit or realism into their
skillful rendition of ‘’Engaged ant
Jilted”
1 It will bo remembered that when
the heroine fatnte and falls gracefully
upon the stage, the awkward, comic
servant is required to seise a large
pitcher from a small table standing
near R. 3' E., and boldly invert it!
over the prostrate lady, exclitning, as
he does soi Oh, Heavens I There’s
not a drap av watber in the place!
This is a highly hnmerons effect, in
its way) bnt its side-sblitting features
were greatly intensified the other
evening, when, throngh some over
sight, tile pitcher was half-fall of
water when it was placed on the
stage.
The proper cue was given. The
comic servant grabbed the pitcher,
and fairly deluged the nnexpcctant
heroine. She sputtered and gasped
for breath, and waved her arms wild
ly in the air, and utterly forgot to
wait for the hero’s arrival before re
covering from her “faint.”
“Gee Williky! Kin she swim?”
called ont a small boy. in the gallery.
And then the ap; '..mse was simply
deafening.
