Two hundred years ago many dis
eases and deformities were'cousidercd
as calamities,' or judgments sent by
(God, and of course they were incuru-

Bible calls a sin, to permit distorted,
limbs crooked eyes and other deformi
ties to cling to children. Sui nce!

suffer with many of the diseases that
now baffle medical skill. Even now,
much of our sickness and many of
our pains arc unnecessary. They are
brought about by inexcusable ignor

a littl * remarkable that tlie Great i
Teacher rebuked bodily infirmities as j
often, or of toner than he did actual;
sins. The world has not learned the
full meanuig of his teaching yet. |
The world is a dunce. It my learn
one of these days.
Meantime it is the duty of every
one to look somewhat into the laws
of health and see what sort of mes
sage the good old Hygeia has for
the world today. She is still en
throned in the heavens. Her oracles
are attainable, if one will only seek
in the right way. There is no reason
to-day why boys and gi.ls should
be pale and weak and crooked and
ugly. It is the ignorance and some
times the sin of the parents that this
is the case. Let the people begin to
