This attraction is well ealcu- son, D. D., of (inviisbohi, the colored Baptist Church. The building was packed, and the large audience listened w'th the closest attention to a most, admira ble and well delivered address, which was replete with wise counsel to his hearers. The speaker ignored poli ties entirely, and af'er a brief sketch of (ho progress made by the colored people since the War, he devoted his attention to a discussion of social and moral questions. He spoke elo quently of the importance of elean- lii ess and refinement, in their homes and pointed out how necessary it was that they should lead moral lives if they wished to make themselves stand well in the estimation of the world. He also spoke of the im perative necessity of their educating themselves, learning to think, and then of putting their thoughts into action.
