Cheatham tilves a Care Far Malarial Fever la Caws, a Prevalllag Disease J«st New. • As several inquiries have bmi re cently addressed to me in regard to the disease that is killing so manv cattle in this county, I give you herewith ntv experience with the dis ease. It appears during the months of June, July, August, September, and sometimes in October. The animal when taken sick refuses to eat, separates front the other cattle, drops its bead, the pulse is quick, fever high, urine red, and before death al most black. In order to cure this fearful and most fatal disease it must be taken in its incipiettoy—if Where is any de lay death will surely follow. One must watch his cattle, and the mo ments he descries a cow refusing to eat he most cotnniense with the ntetli- cine, which is as follows: Epsom salts’ll lbs. dissolved in 1 quart of water and used as a drench —repeat the dose every 2 hours until the bowels are moved freely; then give sweet spirits pure 1 drahm; acetate potash 2 drahm; water 1 pint; mix; give in drench every 6 hours, (live fiO gr. quinine every 3 hours during the day.
