a trip to Beaufort to look alter some
of his property on the oonst hut was,
expected by appointment to return
to Orangcburg on last Friday. His
failure to return on that day excited
uneasiness and a dispatch was sent to
Beaufort to ascertain the cause. Tho
reply to this dispatch was by no
means satisfactory and rather
increased the anxiety at home.
On Tuestlay however relief was ob
tained by n dispatch which explained
that the cause of his detention was
llint he was the victim of untoward
winds and tides by which he was

Islands, an occurrence which is not
unfrequcnt in the creeks and rivers of
that section.
His friends will be relieved by this
