Dec. 22. 1877. Ultssvs. A. I\ Merril ?V- Co., Piriiu<7rJphi<i, Pa.: Gentlemen? Some three year* ago I was taken with something like asthma. The at tacks at first came at nie;ht, and whilst a?!eep. It would awake nie, and I would have to <rel lip and sit up till it would wear off. These attacks became ninro anil dioi-k frequent, and increased more and more hi violence until the spring of I87,?, when ther hcrame alarming. I had to sit upmost of the niirhls, could tint breathe in any other position, and not in a sitting posi.ion with out very painful difiieillty. It was attended with a very bad cough. The es pectoratiohn were of a white frothy character and very tough I became very weak and feeble. My physician did what he could, hut to lit tle pnrpo>e. If he knew what nihd me, he kept it concealed from me. I, however, vii satisfied that the dread disease of conwnp tion was fast setting in upon my Innga.1 Providentially I saw the rcconnnendat'on of the Hon. Alex.(H. Stcpiicnsof theQle-be Flower Srrnp, ami having known him for years, and also of his physical infirmities, I determined to make a trial of thcSjrup. I bought a bottle and commenced taking it as per directions. I felt a sensation of relief after the first dose (taken at night,) bnt had to get up befoie day and sit up as usual. I continued I? take through the next day a* directed and at night before retiring. I have nol h ul to get up since- I continued to take it regularly until I took three bvt tlc4. The cough gradually subsided, breathing became clear and easy, and for twelvemonths I have been in perfect health ?no cough, no asthmctic affection, and I cheerfully attribute my cure to the use of the Globe Flower Sprttp, and would recom mend it to all similarly nfllictcd. My official ami professional labors are particu larly straining to the lungs, hut I am per fectly sound and well, and have no symp toms of any lung disease. I keep some of the Syrup on hand, and perhaps once a month" take a dose of il, which I think keeps the lungs vigorous and healthy. 1 have been thinking for some time that I would add my testimony to the virtues of the Globe Flower Syrup, and now take oc casion to do so; and if you can make any ti^eof the above so as to benefit the suffer ing everywhere, you aro at liberty to do so.
