Messrs. A. F. Merril A Co., Philadelphia, Pa.:
Gentlemen? Some three years ago 1 was
taken with something like asthma. The at
tacks at first came at night, and whilst
asleep. It would awake me, and I would
have to get up antl sit up till it would wear
00*. These attacks became more and more
frequent, and increased more antl more in
violence until the Spring of 1S70, when they
became alarming. I had to sit up most of
the nights, could not breathe in any other
position, antl not in a sitting posi.ion with
out very painful difficulty. It was attended
with a very had cough- The ex pcetorations
were of a white frothy character and very
tough I became very weak and feeble.
My physician did what he could, b. t to lit
tle purpose. If he knew what ailed me, he
kept it concealed from me. I, however, was
satisfied that the dread disease of consump
tion was fast setting in upon my lungs,*
Providentially I saw the recommendat'on
of the Hon. Alex.fli. Stephens of the Qlebe
Flower Syrup, ami having known him for
years, and alRo of his physical infirmities, I
determined to make a trial of the Syrup. I
hought a bottle and commenced taking it as
per directions. I felt a sensation of relief
after the first do.-.o (taken at night.) but had
to get up befoie. day and Hit up as usual. I
continued to take through the next day as
directed and at night before retiring. I
have not hid to get up1 since. 1 continued
to take it regularly until I took three bot
tles. The cough gradually subsided,
breathing became clear and easy, and for
twelve months I have been in perfect health
?no cough, no asthmetic nifection, and I
cheerfully attribute my cure to the use of
the ('lobe Flower Sprup, and would recom
mend it to all similarly atllicted. My
official and professional labors are particu
larly straining to the lungs, but I am per
fectly Kound and well, and have no symp
toms of any lung disease. 1 keep some of
the Syrup on hand, ami perhaps once a
month take a dose of it, which I think
keeps the lungs vigorous and healthy.
1 have been thinking for some time that
I would mid my testimony to the virtues of
the Globe Flower Syrup, and now take oc
casion to do so; and if you can make any
use of the above bo an to benefit the suffer?
ing everywhere, you aro at liberty to do so.
Respectfully yours,
