Mrs. W. P. Spencer was awakened
on last Tuesday night by some one
trying to fit a key in aback door lock
of her residence. Tho parlies on
hearing Mrs. S. arousing her husband
took fright and ran off.

Dr. Hydrick showed us the heart of
a colored woman, who died suddenly
this week. It weighed 17 ounces
just twice as much as the average
weight of n female's heart. It was
apparently sound, but was the cause
of the death of the woman.

by the Orangeburg Baptist As
sociation recently held at Four
Holes Church :

Sheridan. The necessity for such a
school became too urgent to wait
longer the tardy course of the Board,
und as it promises much, if not all'
that could bo desired by your body,
in reference to tho grand object con
templated through your committee,
will now, with the lights before ma,
cheerfully commend it to your re
spectful consideration and patronage.

neglected children.
