Quarterly Heeling.
The nceond (Quarterly meeting of the pres
rntyear, commenced it» scusion at the Meth
odist Church on Thursday evening lant.—
The morning’* and cveuinga were devoted
to religious exercise*, while the afternoons
were spent in the consideration of matters
of business connected with the Church.
The religious exercises were very impress
ire. The large and attentive congregations
furnishes reasons for the hope, that cur peo
ple begin to feel an interest in those things
which belong to eternity.
On the Sabbath, the Presbyterian congre
gation united with their Methodist brethren
in celebrating the Lord’s Supper. “Heboid
how good and how pleasant it is for breth

PISKASES OF THE BLOOD.
‘•The life of the flesh is in the Blood.” is a
Scriptural maxim that science proves to be true.
The p’opltt talk of bad blood, ns the canse of
many discs****, and like many popular opinions
this of bad blood is founded in Iruth.
The symptoms of bad blood nr® usually cjuite
plain—bud Digestion—cause imperfect nutrition,
ami consequently the circulation is feeble, the
■*oft tissues loose their tone snd elasticity, and
i the tongue becomes pale, broad, and frequently
i covered with a pasty white coat- This condition
' kooii shows itself in roughness of the skin, then j
; in Eruptive and Ulcerative diseases, and when j
| long continued, resubs in serious lesions of the
1 Gnuii, Liver, Lungs, or urinary apparatus.
Much, Tory much, suffering is caused by impure j
I Mood, It i*estimated by some that one-fifth of
I .’lie human family are effected with scrofula iu
t some form.
When the Blood is pure, you are not so liable
j io any disease. Many impurities of the Blood
j arise from impure diseases of large cities. Kra-
! dicate every impurity from the fountain of life.
! -and good spirits, f£ir skin and vital utrergih will
j return to you.
