DISEASES OF THE BLOOD.
“The life of the flesh is in the Blood. * U *
Scriptural maxim that ecicnce proves to be true.
The people ta.k of bad blood, as t’*e cause of
many diseases, nnd l:ke many popular opinions
this of bad blood is founded in I ruth.
The symp'ems of bad blood ara usually quite
plain—bad Digestion—cause imperfect nutrition,
and consequently the circulation is feeble, tho
soft tissues loose their tone and elasticity, and
the tongue becomes pale, brand, and frequently
covered with a pasty white coat* This condition
soon shows itself in roughness of the skin, then
in Eruptive and Ulcerative diseases, and when
long continued, result* in serious lesions of tbe
Brain, Liver, Lung*, or urinary apparatus.—
Much, very much, suffering is caused by impure
blood. It is estimated by some that one-fifth of
the human family are effected with scrofula in
some form.
When the Blood is pure, you are not so liable
to any disease. Many impurities ofthe Blood
arise from impure diseases of large cities. F.ra-
dieatc every impurity frrm the fountain of life,
and good spirits, fair skin nnd vital strength will
rotum to you.

Diseases of the Kidneys & BLADDER.
Persons un: equninted with the structure and
functions of the Kidneys cannot estimate tqc'im-
port«nee of their healthy action.
Begubtr mid sufficient action of the Kidneys is
as impoitant, nay, even more so, than legnlarity
ofthe bowels. The kidneys remove from tho
Blood those effete matters which, if permitted to
remain, would speedily destroy life. A total sus
pension of the urinary discharges will occasion
death from thirty-six to forty-eight hours.
When'' the Urin is voided in amall quantities
at the time, or when there is a disposition to
Urinate more frequently than natural, or when
the urine is high colored or scalding with weak
ness in the small of the back, it should not be
trifled with ( r delayed, but Koskoo should bo ta
ken at once *o remedy the difficulty, before a le
sion ofthe organs take place. Most of the din-
cases of the Bladder originate from those of th*
Kidneys, the Urine being imperfectly secreted in
the Kidneys prove irritating to the Bladder and
Urinary passages. When we recollect that medi
cine never reaches the kidneys, except through
the general circulation ofthe Blood, wc* see hew
ueccusary it is to keep the Fountain of Life Pure*
