SOLUBLE MANURES,
A.3ST3D
manufactured at Charleston,
gTNDER the Jircciton of Dr. N. A. I’ratt, Chemist for the Sulphuric AciJ aud Superphosphate
Company. Soluble Phosphoric Acid, iu the form of .Voluble Phosphate of l.imc, or Dissolved
lioue Phosphate, is the basis of all good Fertilisers, aud th< se arc valuable iu the ratio of Soluble
Phosphoric Acid which is in Ibctn,
The immense diposites oi Phosphatic Guanos which were discovered in 18G7 in South Parolins,
by Dr. Pratt, consists mainly of Insoluble Phoiphatc of Liter, which is made available as a fertiliser
by biing ground to powder, and reduced by Sulphuric Acid to such a condition as to make ito in
soluble phosphate soluble iu water, ami thus made capablr of being taken up by growing plants.
The insoluabla Phosphata found in my commercial Fertiliser is o! no mor- value to the plant than
the original Phosphate rock. The greater the proportion of this soluble Phosphate which any Fer
tiliser contains. the less the quantity required per acre, and consequently the cheapest fertiliser is
that containing the highest percentage of soluble Phoephat ;.
Impressed with these truths, the Vulphuric A«iJ and .Super phosphate Company have erected at
Charleston the first extensive Acid Chambers .South of Baltimore, and are able to offer to plautei s
tho Highest percchtsge of .Voluble Phosphate ofLims knowu iu the market.
Their Fertilisers are offered under two forms:
1. Ktiwai: No. 1.—Pure Soluble Phosphate, guaranteed to contain 2-1 per cent, of Dissolved
Bone Phosphate of I,line. $t>0 per ton. 10 per cent discount for cash,
S. Etisvai* No. 2.—-Peruvian Nupor-phosphats, guaranteed to contain 20 per cent, of Dis
solved Bone Phosphate, and G to 3 per cent, of Amonia, with a sufficient addition of Peruviau Gua
no to adapt it to all crop*. $70 per ton, 10 per cent discount for cash.
We also offer Dissolved Bone, of high grade, for planters or iiianufactnrers. who mav desire to
mix into any othsr compost, and ws suggist that this is the best and cheapest method for manufac
turers to transport the Sulphuric Acid contained in tits mixture. Will he sold u; a fixed rate for each
