ef its medlainal virtues. E* was Je'.irhtcd and surprised, and after his own recovery,
which soon occurred, determined, if possible, to procure the soli rlsht to manufacture
and sell it in the United States.
Tho result of his labors was a glorious success for himself and suffering humanity,
for the celebrated rd-UTf Aim wac thus made known to the world. TLAU-
TATIOiT EITT2E3 being an article of real merit, founded upon new principles, and
relying wholly upon the vegetable world for its medicinal effects, worked a rapid revela
tion in tho history of medicine, and became as a household word all or er the civilised
world. The cabalistic S. T.-12G0-Z. was a talisman of health, and the demand for
the PLANTATION LITTLES scon far sncceded the abilities of the proprietors te supply.
Notwithstanding the large impcrtiticn ef St. Crcis Earn, made expressly for the com
pounding ef those Sitters, tho quantity was inadequate. It therefore became necessary
that arrangements upon an extensive scale abroad should at onse be made, and an agent
was dispatched to St. Thcmas for that purpose. He was fortunate in securing and
leasing several plantations on some of tho largest and most productive estates on the
island. Houses, stills and presses were erected as if by magic, which utterly “aston
ished the natives.” The services ef experienced men tmi natives of the island were pro
cured, and very scon the proprietors o: the PLANTATION EITTSSS were in a position
to supply their laboratory with all the perfectly pure St. Crois Eum needed in manufac
turing the S3SAT DYSPEPTIC TONIC AND IN7I&CP.ATCS. Tho above cut represent*
the natives crushing the sugar-cane and otherwise preparing it for the still* and presses.
As an antidote te Pever and Avne, Intermittent and Malarious Fevers, Dyspepsia, and
ether kindred diseases, the use of the PLANTATION EITTEES is unsurpassed in the
history of the wcrli. Over five niilloa tctoles are disposed of annually. They are
adapeed to old and young, male and female. They aro agreeable in taste, and alwaji
produce an immediate beneficial result,
