Our friend Garrison keeps things in

indebted to him for some of the finest turn

bow large they arc ; but if any one will beat
them—leaving the turnips at this office—we
will notice them (the turnips) in due style.
More turnips, about the sameseiie. Bring

Bore n»c ol the KniCc.
Since our last issue, wc have two more re
ports of the use of the knife by colored peo
ple. In one case Mr. Richard F. Black
man a peaceable, quiet and unoffendin
young man, was tlie victim. He was severe
ly cut in the abdomen by one Isaiah Davis
—colored. At one time his wound was con
sidered mortal, and he was so informed. It
gives us pleasure to announce that it is now
thought he will recover.
In the other case, both parties were col
ored ; one was cut in the arm but uot seri
ously hurt.
• It is time this thing was stopped : and
the respectable colored people join us in this
opinion.

Fire.
On ,hc 6tb., iiist., ‘he residence of Mrs.
William Huooins, a widow, was destroyed
by fire. The widow was uot at home at the
time; but the servants saved a large por
tion of the household furniture. A lot of
corn was destroyed.
This fire was accidental.
fcaf- One of the few really successful enter-
priscaof the day is Parker & Co.’s One
Dollar Sale. Their system offers a greater
opportanity for the purchase of the thousand
and one useful articles, at a price that comes
within the reach of all classes, than auy
other.
It is a well understood fact, that certain
classes of goods pay the dealer a very large
percentage of profit: This appears almost
necessary, cspeccially iu Fancy Goods, i
Jewelry, Silver plated Ware, See., of which j
a dealer docs not sell sufficient of any one I
article to make it an object oft rude, and is j
obliged to purchase in small quantities ; and
when the goods are sold by throe or four
classes of merchants, and each charge a very
large profit, the price becomes double the
original cost of manufacture before reaching
the hands of the people.
It isiu sueb goods Parker & Co., 98 St 100
Summer St., Boston, deal most extensively.
There sales are so immense they make each
article a specialty, often buying all a manu- |
facturcr can produce. Their system gives j
universal satisfaction. Read their advertise- i
ment.

power it charges the system '“■•ith the vxry ctsec-nce or
principle that forms the vital powers of tho body, and it*
chemical action on the blood in its primitive and com
plete condition, pi j erates every atom of refuse material or
element, out of which the viiuqot disease is formed.
2. That, the blood thus prepared, and supplied with
these nourLbing properties becomes strong, rich and
healthy, and holds in solution its proper constituents,
through the Sarsnpni-tIlian Resolvent, and
repairs the wastes of tho body with sound and healthy
structures. Such is tho wonderful power the garsa-
parllllioi Resolvent exerts on tho blood and
juioos of the system, that no virulent humors or poi
sons will exist by which deposits are made.
S. The rapidity which the Sarsa]iarillian enters
the circulation, and communicates its curative powers
through the Jilood, Sweat, Urine, and other fluids, se
cures the constituent socretions of each respective organ,
establishing fuuclionnl harmony throughout the system ;
through its action aud power over the S*>cretiona, the
Linr secretes its natural or proper allotment of bile;
the 8kin sweat; the Kidneys uroa; and tho Lungs
carbon; eothat ihU wonderful medicine not only cstab-
isues health in the sick body, but preserves the cystem
in health. ** e s
As we have shown the principle on which disease is
formed, as well as the ouly sensible theory of cure,
we claim that tho range of cure of the Sarsapnril-
Han Resolvent is unlimited, and that every disease
that is of a Ohronie,Scrofulous or Organic Diathesis, is,
properly within its special range.
THE GREAT SECRET OF CURE
in this Mtdiciuc consists in the selection of ingreJlentf
containing curative and nourishing properties that sup
ply the blood and general system with such constituents
which, in a condition of disease and depravity, it is defl-
cient of, together with the combination of the several
ingredients that form the 6AitdAFAKILLIAN RESOL
VENT.
If the constituent of Oxygen was exhausted from the
atmospheric air, life would become extinct. 8o, when
the blood becomes exhausted of its vital constituents, it
deposits its tubercles and diseased humors in the body,
and the elements of decay and decomposition supervene.
Radtvajr’e Sursaparllliata Resolvent is to
the blood and general system what Oxygen is to the
atmospheric air; it supplies tho life principle, and
enables the blood to hold in solution all its natural con
stituents.
DAILY CHANGES
take place, for as the !Sarsaparilli;tn increases the strength
and purity of tho blood, all deposits nre diminished, and
whore there arcs tubercles formed in Ihe lungs, the
furtliHr deposits are arrested, and those that are' estab
lished or forming dislodged, expelled, exhausted, or tbo
portion of the diseased lung cicatrized, and the consump
tive, scrofulous subject receives good, if not sound,
health.
