It was stated in the last issue of The News that Louis Wil liams would probably be respit ed and such was the case. The Governor has granted him a respite until the 17th. day of July. A fire in Florence early on Ku iday morning destroyed a number of houses on Front Street. The buildings burned were mainly inhabited by col ored people and were of no great value. Mk. and Mrs. S. The State Convention of the Young Men s Christian Associ ation will meet in Charleston to-day and it is probable that quite a number of the members of the association at this place will attend.
