Julian* Harllee, of Florence, died of typhoid fever on the 15th inst., in the 22nd year of his age. Mr.Harllee,was a very promising young man, and was engaged to be married to a young lady of Charlotte. N. C., on the 5th of the present month, when his fatal illness overtook him. The dwelling-house and store house of Mr. R. P. Byrd, near Ebenezer, were totally consum ed by fire on the niglit of the 13th inst. The origin of the fire is not known. There was some insurance on the property, hut it will not begin to cover the loss. While m Columbia recently attending the State Fair, Mr. Byrd was knocked from the platform of a car upon which he was standing by a passing train on another track, and the injuries which he re ceived thereform were so great that it was with difficulty that he was removed from his" house the night it was burnt, the building having caught fire while all the family were sound asleep.
