The New York Life was the first Company, and for thirty-fir* years tlio only Com
pany, lo omit from its policies the clause making them void in cose of suicide. Very
few companies do now. Being convineed lhat most suicides are the result of insanity,
and that many cases of accidental death and murder cannot be distinguished from
